Wishing

Wishing is connected to imagination but it's not action. Like all writers, my action is usually confined to the writing itself. I've been busy following the advice of an editor who suggested I shorten my books and create sequels because they were quite long to start. I like a challenge, so I'm still working on that, which interferes with creating new books, or forcing myself to do more marketing. I know that blowing my horn is necessary, but I wish it wasn't, or I wish I could wave my magic wand and have the perfect marketing campaign. Or best of all, I wish my magic wand would find me a traditional publisher who would take care of all this for me. I know that nothing is gained without a lot of work, and motivation isn't my problem. I think selfishness is what keeps me from using my days to promote myself better. I'm selfish of my time on Earth and how I spend what it likely my last decade. I think I might just keep wishing for lightning to strike, and spend my precious time and energy writing. What do you WISH for?

Best Always,

Robin
